About Mothers Against Addiction (MAA)

Mothers Against Addiction is a national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mothers and families impacted by addiction. Through advocacy, emotional support, and educational resources, we empower families to heal and rebuild their lives.

We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to help expand MAA’s online presence, engage with our community, and raise awareness of our mission. This part-time, remote volunteer role is ideal for someone passionate about social media, content creation, and making a difference in the lives of families affected by addiction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation:
    ○ Create and schedule engaging content for MAA’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
    ○ Design graphics, write captions, and curate relevant content to amplify our message.
  • Community Engagement:
    ○ Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and compassionate manner.
    ○ Foster a supportive and engaging online community.
  • Campaign Support:
    ○ Collaborate with the communications team to plan and execute social media campaigns for events, awareness initiatives, and fundraising efforts.
    ○ Help track performance metrics and suggest improvements based on insights.
  • Research and Trends:
    ○ Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices.
    ○ Identify new opportunities to enhance MAA’s digital presence.

Qualifications

  • Experience with social media platforms and tools (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Canva, Hootsuite).
  • Strong writing skills with an ability to craft engaging and empathetic content.
  • Creativity and an eye for design; basic graphic design skills preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for MAA’s mission and commitment to supporting families impacted by addiction.
  • Ability to dedicate 5-10 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
