About Mothers Against Addiction (MAA)

Mothers Against Addiction is a national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mothers and families impacted by addiction. By providing resources, advocacy, and emotional support, we empower families to overcome the challenges of addiction recovery and create a path to healing and resilience.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Volunteer Grant Writer to help secure funding that will drive our programs and initiatives forward. This remote, part-time role is perfect for someone with strong writing skills who is passionate about making a tangible difference in the lives of families affected by addiction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grant Research and Identification:
  • Research potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Identify funding sources that align with MAA’s mission and programs.
  • Proposal Writing and Submission:
  • Write compelling, well-structured grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents.
  • Tailor proposals to meet the specific requirements of each funder.
  • Track and meet deadlines for submissions.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work with leadership to gather relevant program information, data, and stories to strengthen proposals.
  • Coordinate with other volunteers to align funding needs with grant opportunities.
  • Grant Reporting:
  • Assist in preparing and submitting grant reports to funders, detailing the impact of awarded funds.
  • Maintain accurate records of grant activities and communications.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field (non-profit experience preferred).
  • Strong research, writing, and editing skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of grant application processes and funding landscape for non-profits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and grant research tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple deadlines.
  • Passion for MAA’s mission and a commitment to supporting families affected by addiction.
  • Availability to dedicate 5-10 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
