About Mothers Against Addiction (MAA)

Mothers Against Addiction is a national non-profit organization committed to supporting mothers and families impacted by addiction. Through advocacy, resources, and emotional support, we empower families to navigate the challenges of addiction recovery with hope and resilience.

We are seeking an organized and creative Content Manager to oversee MAA’s content creation and distribution efforts, ensuring that our messaging aligns with our mission and effectively reaches our audience. This volunteer role is perfect for someone who is passionate about storytelling, has a knack for organization, and wants to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy and Planning:
    ○ Develop and manage a content calendar for blogs, social media, newsletters, and other platforms.
    ○ Work with the leadership team to align content themes with organizational priorities.
  • Content Creation and Editing:
    ○ Oversee the creation of blog posts, articles, and social media content.
    ○ Edit and proofread content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and tone.
    ○ Collaborate with writers, designers, and volunteers to produce high-quality materials.
  • Platform Management:
    ○ Ensure timely posting of content across all platforms, including social media, website, and email.
    ○ Optimize content for SEO and audience engagement.
  • Engagement and Analytics:
    ○ Monitor content performance metrics and suggest improvements based on data.
    ○ Engage with the online community through thoughtful and compassionate responses.
  • Collaboration:
    ○ Partner with the social media team, outreach specialists, and other volunteers to create cohesive messaging.
    ○ Provide guidance and mentorship to volunteers contributing to content projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in content creation, editing, or management (nonprofit experience is a plus).
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and tone.
  • Familiarity with content management tools (e.g., WordPress, Google Workspace, Canva).
  • Understanding of SEO, social media trends, and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Passion for MAA’s mission and a commitment to supporting families affected by addiction.
  • Availability to dedicate 5-10 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
