About Mothers Against Addiction (MAA)

Mothers Against Addiction is a national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mothers and families impacted by addiction. We provide resources, advocacy, and emotional support to empower families to overcome challenges and rebuild their lives.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Finance Director to oversee our financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes. This volunteer, part-time role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who is passionate about using their skills to support a meaningful cause.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight:
    ○ Manage MAA’s budgeting process, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support programs and initiatives.
    ○ Track income and expenditures, and ensure accuracy and transparency in financial records.
  • Reporting:
    ○ Prepare financial reports for leadership and the board of directors.
    ○ Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting standards for non-profits.
  • Grant and Fund Management:
    ○ Monitor and report on funds received through grants, donations, and fundraising campaigns.
    ○ Assist in preparing budgets and financial reports for grant applications and compliance.
  • Policy and Procedure Development:
    ○ Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    ○ Provide recommendations for improving financial systems and practices.
  • Collaboration:
    ○ Work closely with the leadership team to align financial planning with organizational goals.
    ○ Support fundraising efforts by providing financial analysis and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in finance, accounting, or a related field (non-profit experience preferred).
  • Knowledge of non-profit financial management, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Passion for MAA’s mission and a commitment to supporting families affected by addiction.
  • Availability to dedicate 5-10 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
