About Mothers Against Addiction (MAA)

Mothers Against Addiction is a national non-profit organization dedicated to supporting mothers and families affected by addiction. We provide compassionate resources, emotional support, and advocacy to help families heal and rebuild their lives.

We are seeking a dedicated Mothers Outreach Specialist to engage with mothers and families impacted by addiction, provide support, and connect them to MAA’s resources. This part-time, remote volunteer role is ideal for someone passionate about community outreach and committed to empowering families in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement:
    ○ Act as a primary point of contact for mothers seeking support and guidance.
    ○ Build meaningful relationships with families through compassionate communication.
  • Resource Connection:
    ○ Provide families with information about MAA’s programs, resources, and external support services.
    ○ Assist in matching families to appropriate resources based on their needs.
  • Advocacy and Awareness:
    ○ Promote MAA’s mission and services within local and virtual communities.
    ○ Help identify new outreach opportunities to expand the organization’s impact.
  • Support Network Coordination:
    ○ Facilitate support groups, virtual meet-ups, or forums for mothers and families.
    ○ Collect feedback from families to help improve MAA’s offerings.
  • Collaboration:
    ○ Work closely with the leadership and volunteer teams to align outreach efforts with organizational goals.
    ○ Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning discussions.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach.
  • Experience in community outreach, counseling, or peer support preferred.
  • Understanding of issues related to addiction and recovery, especially as they impact families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
  • A commitment to MAA’s mission and a desire to support mothers and families.
  • Flexibility to dedicate 5-10 hours per week, including occasional evenings or weekends.
